In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Author Radley is a prime example of goodness and innocence in the novel, and Harper Lee teaches the lesson of good and evil always coexisting through him. His character serves as the opposite of Bob Ewell. We see this in chapter 28, when Scout and Jem get attacked by Bob. In a scene where there seems to be only evil, Arthur Radley risks his own life to save two children. “The man began moving around, as if searching for something. I heard him groan and pull something heavy from the ground. It was slowly coming to me that there were now four people under the tree. ‘Atticus...?’ The man was walking heavily and unsteadily toward the road” (Lee 301). In a situation that is filled with darkness, evilness, and the
