After reading the emotional intelligence theory, the theory leads me to see there are many ways some may look at leadership. Leadership goes hand in hand with emotional intelligence. In "Emotional Intelligence Theory: highlighting in developing leadership skills", Daniel Goleman analyzes what makes a good leader. Going into what some key skills and qualities of being a good leader might consider. The first elements of this essay follow what some would assume key behavior of a leader. This being shown to the reader in a very simple approach that focuses on your emotional output as a leader and what impact it might have on an certain situation. Reflecting on this output, I think we all could come to agree with this approach Daniel Goleman has delivered in this essay. Output as a leader is quite a rippling or domino effect and it can be taken in many different ways. Furthermore, in “Emotional Intelligence Theory: highlighting in developing leadership skills" Daniel Goleman states "emotional intelligence is about having the ability to understand and manage the emotions of yourself and also those around you.". Seeing is believing and thats not all it takes to be a leader, Goleman has made this very clear in his writing that it doesn't just take a positive approach in order to lead. Goleman did this by also adding a couple of eye grabbing images in order to make this clear. The third element of Emotional Intelligence Theory: Social awareness is the ability for a Leader to understand the emotions of the team members around them and to get a good comprehension of their emotional makeup. This showing a substantial amount of adequate fundamentals of being a leader. "Daniel Goleman, (2002)" later referred to practice and how nothing happens over night.
