1. Two Children injured in fight involving juvenile girls in Gary
2.Gary man charged in 2nd rape
1) A 4-year-old boy and a teen were injured Sunday in a fight at the Dorie Miller housing development.The fight started at 4 p.m. between a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl on Maine Street and spilled into a house on the 2000 block of Alabama Street.
The 15-year-old girl went into the house of one of her relatives and the 16-year-old followed her. At some point during the fight, the 15-year-old girl threw a knife that wounded a 14-year-old boy in the leg and a 4-year-old boy in the foot.Gary Police Chief Wade Ingram said the stab wounds were superficial and were not life threatening. The two boys were being treated at local hospitals Sunday night.
The two girls were charged with battery and child endangerment, police said. The 16-year-old girl also faces a residential entry charge.The 14-year-old boy who was wounded is facing a battery charge and is accused of helping the 15-year-old girl during the fight. -A 4 year old and a teen were injured. The fight between a 15 and 16 year old started around 4 p.m.. The 15 year old threw the knife that wounded the 14 and 4 year old boys. the wounds weren’t so severe. the 2 boys were sat the hospital being taken care of. The 2 girls are facing battery and child endangerment. The 16-year-old is also facing trespass. The 14 year old kid is facing battery for helping the 15 year old in the fight.
2) A 42-year-old Gary man raped and battered a woman in August after offering to give her a ride, police said.
Ronald Dewayne Thompson was charged Monday with rape, criminal deviate conduct, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, criminal confinement and battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
While walking on 22nd Avenue, a man, who identified himself as Michael, offered to give her a ride, court documents state.The man then took her to a location near 61st Avenue and Broadway in Merrillville and raped her, court documents state.They later returned to the man's car. The woman told police she got out of the vehicle while it was stopped near 83rd Avenue and Mississippi Street. Police located the woman near that area.
She was taken to Methodist Hospitals Southlake Campus. Police said she suffered a fractured
