They enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do and I have been practicing for the past 6 years now. This has really helped me a lot and boosted my self-confidence. I have learnt to have positive interactions with people. I recently graduated to Black Belt 1st Dan and also instruct students. I help them with their forms, skills and sparring. I have gained confidence on my abilities to defend myself in any situation and that has boosted my morale and inner strength.
Children with Asperger’s Syndrome are different in more than one ways. Unfortunately, we do not yet know why children are born this way. Nevertheless, I am blessed to be the way I am and I take pride in my achievements. I have to work harder than others to retain and process information and problem solve. Mostly I see things in black or white. There is very little gray area; but am now trying to understand and develop that aspect as well. I learn by practice and when I meet others with similar difficulties, I try and help them.
I love music and play the piano. I am also learning to play the guitar as well. One of the things that I love to do is play the piano to the residents of the Autumn Grove Alzheimer’s Center near my home.
