According to the book 1984 by George Orwell it was common to see certain things that where known to be facts change. This was to create fear in people. the thought that “big brother” was watching you made you think of what he would approve of. Theses citizens lived in a place filled with microphones everywhere you went you would see one. Many people would get killed or sent to go do labor work because of simple things like making a certain face or even talking to someone for to long. The governments idea at the end is to make a perfect world where everything was victory and nothing but victory. It was the government that would make the citizens think that the world was flat or that this so called big brother was watching over them and watching every move that they do. At some point in the book they explain how the government doesn’t want to toucher people but it was to break courios people like Winston and Julia, and they managed to break them to the point where the most important thing to them they gave it up.
