Jonathan Safran Foer brilliantly included several different point of views and narrators throughout the novel. By providing the different experiences and thoughts of the characters, I was able to gain a better understanding in how they interpret the following events. This technique was quite confusing the first time around, but caught my attention, which kept me attentive. Foer has also formatted this novel in such a way that is almost diary-like. Oskar Schell jots down his actions and thoughts from his everyday life while still on his quest. Ordinarily, attaching several photographs of object he had come across.
