I watched Vice News “North Koreans in Los Angeles are facing discrimination – in Koreatown” by Dexter Thomas (Thomas, 2018), episode 362 that aired June 11, 2018. Dexter interviewed Mrs. May and described how different it has been living in Koreatown in LA compared to North Korea and their poverty. Mrs. May is a North Korean immigrant who migrated to the United States 6 years ago to find job to pay for her son’s surgery. Mrs. May’s son had severe burns to his feet and hands.
