Title: Atheism 2.0
Intro: Atheism 2.0 is a film by Alain de Botton a Philosopher that was filmed in July 2011. It is a film about what an Atheist should believe in.
Purpose: The purpose of the film is to tell certain individuals that it is ok to pick certain aspects of certain religions that you agree with and applying them to your everyday life. If you agree with something then why not apply it to your way of life?
Message: The message of the film is that we all need guidance and look to others in order to help us move through our life. So if we find something that we believe in and can truly make a part of our life then we should follow that.
Summary: Religions tell you how you should do or how you should behave. Everyone should …show more content…
But at the same time you can not completely change what you believe in just because you believe one small part about another religion.
Viewer exposure: The film does present how different religions do view certain aspects of life differently compared to others and I think this does make one realize that not everyone does think in the same way.
Viewer Worldview: I believe that the viewer’s world view is challenged because some might believe that this guy is completely wrong in say what he said but at the same time some will agree with him. I do believe that we do all look for guidance but at the same time we do all believe how that guidance is going to be given to us.
Context: Individuals are guided by religion and what is being told to them by that religion. We all look for something to guide us throughout our life and to get us through certain things.
Conclusion: I agree with the points that he made and believe that we can all learn from each other and are entitled to believe in what we chose to. We should not have to completely distinguish ourselves but should be able to just say this is what I believe in and that is the end of it. I for one do not consider myself as having a religion. I do believe in god but I do not believe in a specific one. There is some sort of power that is higher than us humans. Overall, I liked this short
