Introduction:
A rising number of schools have given athletic the marketing tool for higher education growth. With the participation in NCAA Division I sports, sports are now economic booming businesses for these schools. Programs like Men’s March Madness and College Football, television contracts and endorsement deals bring in millions of dollars. Its reported that even when winning programs are flourishing academic giving athletic giving does see an increase all around however the increase in athletics giving is a lot higher than academics.
Notably, the tourism for schools does see a peak in economic income. Future students tend to visit these schools to be apart of the cultures, buying into the experience and the schools. Money then is spent on apparel, hotels, academic enrollment programs, sporting evens and schools see the profit from this. Even the cities see a boost in profits when people and spectators come to visit and they visit hotels, restaurants, sporting evens, malls and ect.
These types of environment create student support and community awareness for these universities and cities they are built in. In fact, these benefits are priceless but yet create such an impact on universities that it builds teamwork, community awareness and competition to build on and create significant resources to pull from for future students and visitors.

Even being able to fund salaries for coaches and staff are not cheap to maintain. However, the need for these expenses is needed to run these games and produce championship games. In addition, the need for: better facilities, new equipment, recruiting, apparel, and travel is all factored into these budgets that have to be paid for. Yet as a result, who is paying for this? A lot of the money does come from the operations of these schools game day revues from ticket sales, payouts, and alumni donations. However when it come to the smaller schools the ones in the division of DI-NF tend to use the support from the institutions that have been distributed to them through their budgets for those programs. That money solely comes from student fees and miscellaneous fees that are paid for by the students and government based. On the other hand larger schools like FBS and FCS schools rely on heavily on fan support with ticket sales and donor support to cover a lot of their cost and funding to their programs. Addition to that, these big time schools are relying also on television contracts that really put money back into the programs for good use and needs. Yet, majority of these schools cannot stand-alone and be self-sufficient so for things to even out the student fees and endowments pays out towards these athletic
