Like yourself, I also questioned whether the outcome would have been different had we not used the atomic bombs. I have been doing some research on it and some say that we saved lives by dropping the bombs (the video posted below says this as well) however other information says that it was necessary. According to our literature, " By early 1945, victory over Japan was in sight" ( Henretta, Hinderaker, Edwards, & Self, 2015, p. 719). This leads be tobeleive that perhaps we could have gone without dropping them. I would have to agree with you, I also think it was unethical and a lot of innocent people lost their loves because of it.
