Harper Lee has composed Pulitzer Prize winner novel named as To Kill a Mockingbird, in which the author deeply reveals the realities of the town of Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s, where the people are following old traditions and racism is spread all over the town. The story narrated by one of the novel’s character whose name is Scout, who lived with his Father Atticus Finch, Brother Jem and a black servant Calpurnia. The author also incorporates the novel with a mysterious effect, as one of the Scout’s neighbors Boo Radley assumes to be mystery and everyone considers him as a terrible person, because he never comes outside from his house. Though there is a bitter reality behind the Boo Radley’s attitude, as he has faced many problems in his life; but later in the novel his action proves him as a faithful citizen …show more content…
When the entire town member is against Tom Robinson as he is a black man, then at that time Mr. Atticus stands with Tom Robinson and fights the case for him, because race never bothers him, he respect and give an equal honor to everyone whether the person belongs to a white community or a black community. Atticus already knows that the judges will not going to give a decision in the favor of Mr. Robinson but he keep his trust in the justice, as he states in the novel, "simply because we are licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win" (Lee 101). This shows his extreme loyalty toward his profession. Though he proves Tom Robison an innocent as author Champion shares in the article “Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird” that, “Atticus proves Bob is left-handed, providing circumstantial evidence that Bob attacked Mayella” (2).
