Attorney General’s comments:
The generally basically says a lot of things about how the United States got attacked, but we are now stronger than ever because we are fighting like crazy. We would rather die fighting to preserve democracy rather than to bow down to the terrorist and their ways. After Japan unexpectedly bombed us at Pearl HArbor on December 7 1941, the rise of nativism gew once again and the united states had a suspicion towards many japanese peoples. They feared that the japs were associated with the japanese who attacked us. American citizens believed that japanese citizens currently in the United States would somehow wrongly aid the Japan nation fighting against the US.Our suspicion grew so much that we developed japanese american internment camps that were essentially meant to send the japs away from us and make them live their life somewhere away from the us and out of harm's way. After stating their goals of how the United States needs to be protected from outside influences that may harm the unites states, both state plans of how to achieve such goals. For instance, in the department of justice summary, the document states many strategies to contain terrorism and prevent it by revamping its current policies and adding new ones such as giving the government more power to search and seize possible terrorists and their organizations. By giving the government more authority to do what they see fit in preventing and understanding communism, the United States puts the citizens in fear from the growing power of the government who can obtain personal information such as business records, emails, purchases, and much more that previous was kept private. In the department net of justice, it seeks to change the policies the United States currently uses to provide room for new and better ideas that can protect the security and lives of Americans. The patriot act is similar to nsc-68 because in that document, the untied states is trying to contain communism, a looming threat that had risen from the Cold War. After carefully analyzing the situation, the United States concluded that it would need to implement new and better policies to support its plan of containment of communism and impending power of Soviet Union .
