The name Audrey Hepburn resonates with most, young and old. She was an actress, fashion icon, and a philanthropist. Everyone looks up to her for different reasons, her fashion above all caught my eye. She set fashion trends, classic and elegant that are still worn today. Likewise, she was also an ambassador for UNICEF, a company that provides humanitarian assistance to children and mothers of developing countries. Her life wasn’t always so glamorous, she had a difficult childhood, one that shaped her into the woman we all know so well.

Audrey was born on May 4, 1929 in Belgium. Her father left her and her mother at age 6 she recalled his abandonment as "the most traumatic event in my life." Ella, Audrey’s mother, suggested she learn Dutch in a rather short period of time, and moved her from England back to her hometown of Arnhem. The adjustment was difficult for Hepburn, because although she was born in Holland, she spent most of her early years in England learning English. Audrey never volunteered for UNICEF for people to look up to her, she never began acting to make money, and create a name for herself. Instead, she did this to inspire people, and encourage those to make a difference in this world. She believed there was such an important role in helping children in developing countries. A human being like Audrey is hard to come by, someone who is self-less and extraordinary in everything they do, really is a unique quality. She never bragged and boasted about the life she had, instead she took her experiences, she took the name she had, and turned it into an opportunity for others.
