The independent novel I chose was Auschwitz: a Doctor’s Eyewitness Account, an account of a Jewish doctor within Auschwitz. This book is an autobiographical nonfiction narrative. Early versions of this account first appeared in a Budapest newspaper on February 15, 1945. The actual book was copyrighted in 1960 by Margareta Nyiszli, the author’s wife. The original was written in Hungarian, the author’s native language, then was translated to French, German, and English. The English translated copy was copyrighted by Richard Seaver in 1993.

I know this because…
The title explains the setting and and the main character, and tells what the book truly is: an account. It also seems to show how Nyiszli was treated better than his surrounding prisoners.
B. Analyze and explain the book cover
The book cover was designed by Robert Reed, and it depicts the word “Auschwitz” in the middle of the book above a swastika, the nazi symbol, in the background the word “Auschwitz” appears again several times, but this time the words are faded and distant. C. Rate your novel
I would give this novel an eight out of ten.
Explain
