Auschwitz concentration camp is the most known camp from the holocaust. Auschwitz was the largest concentration and death camp established, killing about 1.6 million prisoners. The reason for opening up Auschwitz was because too many polish people were being arrested and there was not enough room for all of them in the prisons. Auschwitz was broken down into three different camps: the main camp, Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau), and Auschwitz 3 (Buna-Monowitz). The victims who were held in the camp were subject to very cruel treatment, malnutrition, and inhumane punishments.
After forced onto trains and taken to the camps, the prisoners arriving entered a world they would not survive. Those who did would be scarred for the rest of their lives. The prisoners
