Self-awareness, which represents the leader’s vision and insight and his proactive and introspective reflection. Self-awareness involves the leader's understanding of the impacts of his actions and reactions upon the others, as well as the personal leader's history of events that may affect his development positively or negatively. It is a process of assessing the individual’s values and beliefs in order to align those convictions with the consistent personal behavior. It is an ongoing process of understanding, recognition and development of one’s core values over time.
2. Balanced processing of information through self-regulation in an unbiased manner through which the leader gets an accurate perception of himself and others. Balanced processing includes the ongoing regulation process of personal values, beliefs, goals, behaviors, and attitudes for self-consistent reflection. Moral/ethical perspective which means the commitment to moral values that help in creating high levels of trust between the leader and his followers, as it also creates a mutual and open atmosphere in which the leader interacts with his followers through his goals and. The leader does not seek self-interest but rather focuses on the behaviors and the decisions that are related to moral principles in order to create favorable conditions that are consistent with those principles of words and actions that are necessary to develop trust.
Observance of the four components helps the leader to achieve the objectives of the organization and take the appropriate decisions. These four components can be divided into cognition which includes self-awareness and balanced processing, motivation that has moral/ethical perspective and finally action that includes the relational transparency.
