This research proposal will be discussing the best strategies in assisting Autistic children in school. It will also focus on how to cope with an Autistic child in classroom setting. Different articles and journals have defined Autism in their own way. This proposal will review these definitions to come up with working definitions in order to assist in the research relating the best methods of assisting autistic children in school. It will then link to the strategies on how to work with autistic children in school environments. I have been a special needs teacher for almost 5 years now. I have worked with different kinds of disability however; working with Autistic children has become a passion. I chose this topic because I would like to research more on strategies and assist teachers who have difficulties teaching ASD students. I realized that a lot of teachers don’t want take the responsibility of teaching them. If teachers can be trained or work together with the special needs department to improve the learning of ASD children then there would be an improvement in learning. I also picked this to also have a deep knowledge on Autism and how to cope with them in the environment. My research question will be “Examining best strategies in assisting Autistic students in school”.
LITERATURE REVIEW
This literature review will discuss different strategies used to teach an autistic child or autistic children in classes. It will also focus on definitions of Autism and how to cope with Autistic children in a school environment and how the strategies can be implemented in a classroom setting.

His parents were contacted on several occasions by his personal tutor. He has never attempted to answer questions in class or participate in class activities.
Student B: On the other hand, student B was more on the maladaptive side. He was constantly disturbing the lessons and required constant prompt when it comes to the submission of his work. He was on the loud side whenever he talks in class, listen to music or fall asleep. He displayed inappropriate behavior in class.
Student C: He was more on the open side, he sometimes asked series of questions and he showed no sign of Autism spectrum disorder. Student C requested to sit on his own during examinations. He was diligent and appeared to be interested in what was taught.
The data collected was mainly to find out how students behaved in teaching sessions with teachers and peers, how they coped during assessment and what type of accommodations were given to them. Under the UK law, students on the spectrum should not be left behind and they have to be given the adequate accommodations to fit their disability. (Special Education Needs and Disability Act, 2001, section 28). No special needs student should be discriminated furthermore, under the Special Education Needs and Disability Act, 2001, section 26), educators need to adjust and accommodate autistic children in classes.
