One may say that his or her great-grandparents lived during or was in World War ll. The great-grandparents would have also said that the second World War was a very horrific war in many ways. It impacted America and many countries in Europe. The question that was focused in the research is, who played an important role in World War ll? The question is also focused on both Allied and Axis Power’s viewpoint. Some of the important people that came to mind were Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower. They all played a different role in the making of World War II, which is a way they are an important aspect of the war. Therefore, the rulers of different countries made an impact on everyone in the world.

Eisenhower who was apart of the Allies. He was the commander of the Allied forces. He was in charge of spearheading the planned Allied attack on Nazi land in Europe (“Dwight D. Eisenhower”). A less famous battle he lead was the Operation Torch. The battle happened on November 1942 when he invaded a place in North Africa. A famous battle known to be lead by Eisenhower was on June 6, 1944. He lead an attack on the beaches of Normandy, and was in control of 150,000 soldiers, the battle was known as D-Day. The battle lead to the liberation of Paris on August 25 which was the turning point of the war. It showed the Axis Powers that The Allies was fighting hard and they had a possibility to win the war. Eisenhower was known today as a war hero and was soon the Chief Staff of the United States Army. With him having a good background he was able to become the 34th president of the United States. Therefore, without Eisenhower as a great commander we could have lost battles which could lead to losing the
