The Life of a Drone A literary analysis of ayn rand's Anthem

In Anthem by ayn rand the topic of life for those not in power is described as like an ant colony where all must serve the colony for the good of each other but there is not a large example until Equality tries to present his invention to the council of scholars and they think it is evil because he did not work with other men and he acted as if he was not part of the colony so the invention must be evil which shows how they act as an ant colony and anything that is not apart of the colony is a bad thing and a danger to the colony

Ayn Rand's also portrays the life of the lower class as was similar to where she grew up in the soviet union and she portrays anthem in a world in which communism, at its most extreme has been spread to everyone everywhere which forces all people to get rid of their individuality and become part of a large collective in which they no longer work for themselves but for the state as in anthem where people are told what job they will have or where they are to love and they are not allowed to fall ii love because it could get in the way of there love for the state pg 1 “it is as if we were speaking alone to no ears but our own and we know that there is no transgression
