It is important to understand the break-even analysis as it is a tool used to provide a business with the information necessary to determine when they are to expect profit. The allocation used to determine malpractice insurance costs should be reviewed to determine if its formulation will provide an accurate estimation without creating bias towards the breakeven analysis (58).
With the current structure of the allocation scheme, it is assessed that there is bias, which will affect the breakeven analysis due to the variables selected to determine malpractice costs. As it stands, the current formula may provide inaccurate forecasting of malpractice costs, which in turn will have a direct effect on the breakeven analysis conducted (56).

The clinic is a huge asset to the hospital not only numerically but also not all services will be able to be performed in the outpatient clinic so those patients will be referred over to the hospital therefore increasing patient revenue for the hospital as well (55). The actions by Baptist Hospital in acquiring the cities largest primary group practice as well as more group practice acquisitions to be planned will directly effect final decisions made by the clinic. With Baptist being the largest competitor, the marketing expenses could potentially need to be increased in order keep patient volume up in the future (56).
