Barbra Kruger is considered a conceptual artist that has shaped her career from the burden of late capitalist consumerism. She uses black and white images and sometimes red text in most of her work. The idea behind her work is to question the viewer on feminism, consumerism, and classism; even though most of her images come from what would be called ‘mainstream magazines’, which is, ironically what she is challenging (8).
