Her dad drunk a lot and sometimes hurt her mother, but her dad was fascinated by Bartholomea and listened when she spoke to him. One night Bartholomea went to a friend’s house and asked where is her dad. They replied in the tavern and was amazed by her bravery that she went to the the tavern to get her dad. When the friend asked if she was afraid of being insulted she shrugged and replied, “Oh, no. I’m not afraid of humiliations.” She left and asked her father politely to leave and she led him back to their house. Another night when a neighbor insulted him, he tried not to start anything but insults came flying towards him. Bartholomea's dad was so mad that he leaped on the neighbor. Bartholomea rushed toward her father and said, “It’s not worth bothering about, Daddy. It’s not worth it. Come on, let’s go home!” Her father got off the man and didn’t look back.Later on, when Bartholomea’s dad is dying, she converts him to Christianity. She helped her father to the Light of Christ and helped him be a better man than before. Bartholomea was a courageous girl with strength no one can see with the eye. We all wish for her courageous
