Basketball is a sport that is played between two teams of five and the points are scored by shooting a ball through a netted hoop on each side the off court. In order to win in the game of basketball, a team whoever scores the most points in the opposing team hoop. Basketball is played by all ages. Usually, it starts with five or six years than people in their eighties still play the game. However, the more competitive is basketball games are found in the high school, college, and professional level. Basketball is played all over the world and every four years, we see the best of each countries players play at the Summer Olympics. But anyone can play the sport of basketball. Basketball is a very popular sport for disabled athletes. Especially the athletes who are in wheelchairs. Wheelchair basketball is a very popular sport for boys, girls, men, and women have the opportunity to play the sport.…show more content… The NWBA was founded in 1948 and is an organization that has over 200 wheelchair basketball teams across twenty-two conferences. Currently today the NWBA has seven divisions that included a championship division, division III, women’s division, intercollegiate division for both men and women, and junior divisions. The NWBA hold a national tournament each year, which the best teams in each division are able to come and compete for a national title. The goal the NWBA is to provide any induvial with physical disabilities an opportunity to compete in the sport of basketball. The NWBA has a hall of fame that was started in 1973
