The Battle of Arbela also called The Battle of Gaugamela, was the result of Alexander the Greats invasion of the Persian empire. After he conquered Egypt, he set out to Mesopotamia were he thought he would see the Persians because once across the Tigris river the Macedonian reported that they had seen Persian Calvary. So without taking chances he sent his army forward and they charged forward the are once reported, the Persians weren't found.
