Battle of Bulge: The Battle of Bulge began on December 16 of 1944 and ended on January 25 1945. This battle was a major German offensive campaign that was launched through the dense forests of the Ardennes region of Wallonia, in Belgium, France and Luxemburg on the Western Front. This battle took place towards the end of WW2. This battle was caused by Adolph Hitler attempting to split the Allied Armies in Northwest Europe by means of a surprise blitzkrieg thrust through the Ardennes to Antwerp. This battle, launched by more than a quarter-million German troops, was the deadliest and and most desperate battle of the war in the west.
