The battle of Tannenberg was one the first and major battles fought during World War One. This battle was fought between Russia and Germany which started on August 26 and ended August 30, 1914. You may be wondering why this battle is called battle of Tannenberg if the battle, in fact, took place near the city of Allenstein.
