The sand squished between my toes as I walked past the tall grass and onto the beach. I stared for a moment at the seagulls above. They squealed for food, it was almost time for dinner. My stomach growled in agreement. The water was cold on my bare feet, a chill went up my back. The smell of the sea water hits my nostrils. I pulled down my goggles and began to swim straight towards the horizon. I had an unhealthy amount of saltwater go down my throat along my journey. About twenty yards in, I had reached my destination. I stood up and felt the sand go between my toes again.
The sandbank was shallow and everything above my waist was exposed to cool air. A breeze hit my wet skin, the hair on my arms and the back of my neck shot up. I emerged
