Registered nurses can perform an array of jobs. RN’s perform just a few of these, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, coordinate patient care, and provide advice and support for their patients and families. The CNA is a program that will allow me to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. This will allow me to not only get money but also get some much needed experience in the medical field. However, getting the CNA can be time consuming and cost a lot of money if you don’t get it through the right program. Some programs like nursing homes and hospitals will reimburse you for your CNA training, but you would have to sign on to that specific organization for a certain time. This would be hard for someone like me who is a student and is not home every day. So an easy alternative would be to get either an internship or shadowing job at a hospital or other medical organization. I would choose one of the hospitals on campus since it is right here and I won’t have to travel that much. I would attempt to do it my sophomore through senior year. If I am unable to get it at this time I will work as a CNA in the summer in my hometown or a summer internship/shadow in my hometown at a local hospital, Lutheran Hospital or Parkview in Fort Wayne. If I do get my CNA I would do most of my work at home over the summer at a nursing home called Millers Marry
