Over 350,000 babies are born all over the world in a day, that's more than 130 million newborns a year. (“How many babies are born each day?,” 2014) With such high amounts of newly born babies and new mothers in need of help and to be taken care of them the need of midwives is also high. A midwife must be capable of completing an array of task including but not limiting to delivering newborns.This paper is an analysis of the levels of education one should complete in order to achieve the title that is midwife, what career opportunities are available for midwifes, and the lifestyle one can expect to live as a midwife.
