Becoming a vegan means having to check every single food label and read them over very meticulously. It can also be a pain to go into a restaurant only to realize they have no vegan options available, and feeling like a nuisance for asking the chef to prepare something special or modify something for you. If you go to a restaurant, you are unable to choose your own ingredients yourself and therefore can’t see what exactly is going into the food you’re eating. That means you run the risk of accidentally consuming an animal product, and if your body is not used to eating animal products, you may end up feeling ill afterwards. The only way to know exactly what you’re eating is to prepare your own meals. This can be both time-consuming and very expensive. Most people are always on the go and don’t necessarily have time to prepare their breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. This can be fixed by setting aside some time each week to prepare everything at once and then just cooking when desired, but even that can take several hours of work. Preparing most of your own meals also means spending a lot more money at the supermarket, which is not ideal. Some people claim that vegans act like they are more entitled than people who eat or use animal products. I can’t speak for everyone, but from what I have noticed, most vegans do not feel that way at all. They just want to educate people about what they believe in and spread the word about how cruel the food industry can be, which can rub some people the wrong way and give them the wrong idea.
