Minsk is the capital of Belarus and is home to over 1.8 million people. Safety of athletes and visitors in Belarus should not be of concern. The crime rate there is relatively low and crimes against foreigners are rare. The most common crime is robbery but taking sensible precautions should keep visitors safe. There are three types of police in Belarus.
