This paragraph by Ben Alder is discussing the rising dilemma of excessive production in our world today. Ben Alder states that we as people are creating excess amounts of consumables and products that are not crucial to our survival, and in doing so we are taking an unnecessary toll on our planet. For example plastic bags are being created and quickly thrown away and when we throw these bags away they don’t disappear as quickly as we use them. These bags end up blocking storm drains, littering streets, and contaminating oceans. Which is bad but if they were never created in the first place we wouldn’t have these problems to begin with.
