First of all let me say that having such a clear and great plan for the future early on is not that common! Most people don't even know what they want to do while they are in college! I think the goal you've come up with is definitely an idea you should pursue, as it is for an important cause. The only problem I could think of is the fact that you're the opposite of what a teacher should be like. I think the arguments your parents use are valid; it's important to be enthusiastic about your job, especially if you're a teacher!
