Mr. Bennett should be found not guilty of the crime of killing Mr. Armes because reasonable doubts exist. This reasonable doubt was created by the evidence that Mr. Bennett had rat posing on his hands because he was checking Mr. Adams for a pulse, Mrs. Swanson testified that Mr. Adams had poor eyesight and had trouble reading labels, a box of rat poison was found in the lounge kitchen cupboard right next to a box of sugar, the boxes were the same size and color, Mr. Adams could have mistakenly poured rat poison in his coffee, thinking it was sugar, Mr. Alfaro was an exterminator, he could have brought the rat sugar. Bennett killed Mr. Adams, he wouldn't have immediately checked him for a pulse. If Mr. Bennett killed Mr. Adams he wouldn't have checked for a pulse when you saw him, if he wanted him dead he wouldn’t have checked for a pulse and that’s how he got rat poisoning on his hands. The next reason is that Mrs. Swanson testified that Mr. Adams had poor eyesight and had trouble reading labels. A box of rat poison was found in the lounge kitchen cupboard, right next to a box of sugar. The boxes are the same size and color. Mr. Adams could have mistakenly poured rat poison into his coffee, thinking it was sugar. If he had trouble reading labels, it could have been an accident and he could have thought it was sugar. Mr Bennett probably picked up the wrong thing and used it, thinking it was sugar. They both looked the same, and they were the same size and color. But why is rat poison next to the sugar? Mr. Alfaro is an exterminator and he could have brought it just in case there were rats. He could have set it down accidentally next to the sugar.
