Beowulf committed to the hero everyone made him out to be. He journeys from his own home to help and protect the people who needed him most. He never once lost his faith in a battle because of his commitment to fight till the end.He got knocked down many of times, but still fought back until he couldn’t resist any more. He gave the Herot his word and stayed with it. While most of the men that followed him were not as committed, knowing this from when Beowulf fought the dragon, he never once thought about breaking his commitment. He not only followed commitment, but honor.

No matter how mighty evil was, he never backed down. While being wounded, he battled through the most dangerous battle and outsmarted his enemy for victory. He even went into evil’s territory, such as when he went to Grendel’s mother's lair, to prevent any attacks on Herot. Many admired this and that’s why many honored him. Beowulf has many more reasons as to why he is one of the most heroic heroes of all time, and even to present day.
