What’s the best class pet? If you had the choice between a bunny, turtle, or crab which would you choose? If it makes a difference what would you choose if it was a class pet? Well that is what this is about I know a teacher that has a group of first graders and they want a class pet. I think that these three pets are the best options for first graders for many different reasons. But first we need to talk about the animals and know more about them before we decided on the class pet. The first option for a class pet is a turtle. A turtle would make a great class pet for many different reasons. The food for the turtle would be extremely cheap and it would need a small tank with some plants, water, and dirt to live in. Turtles would be very easy to care for because, a turtle sleeps 12-14 hours per day and all it needs to do for activity is swim around in its tank which means it never really needs to come out of the tank. I think a crab would make a great class pet as long as the first graders can’t get their hands in the tank. A crab would need about the same size tank as the turtle but it would need sand and water and the water would need to be constantly replaced so that it is clean. Next, a crab sleeps for 10-12 hours each day, also it only needs to be in its tank and doesn’t need to come out for any physical activity. Crabs do not need a lot to eat and you only need to feed them once per day. Also, you need to make sure that the children can’t stick their fingers in the tank with the crab because, if they get pinched it will hurt them. Some interesting things about crabs is that they have been around for millions and millions of years and certain species of crabs can grow to be sixteen inches big and forty-two pounds heavy. Finally I think a crab will make a great class pet for being easy to care for and as long as the children can’t get to it, it would make a great class
