Betsy Ross is a major historical figure from the American Revolutionary War. She is best known for the allegation that she made the first American flag but she also did other important things during the war. She is an important person who should be remembered forever.
Betsy Ross was born on January 1, 1752, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the eighth of twelve children and her family and she was part of the Quaker religion. She attended a Quaker school and when she was older she served as an apprentice to William Weber where she learned how to sow mattresses, chair covers, and window blinds.
