Their thoughts and dreams became a reality when the transcontinental railroad line was created by Collis Huntington. The railroad ran through the Southern United States reaching from Los Angeles with in New Orleans. 1877 it took over most percentage of California's Railroad mileage.
> By the time 1881 the South Pacific finally linked to Santa Fe Railroad in New Mexico. It was the second transcontinental railway to be created in America.
> Just a little over two years later in 1883 Collis inherited the smaller railroads creating the Southern Pacific sunset route. Which ran from New Orleans to California.
> The route from Santa Fe extended to Kansas all the way to Los Angeles. Mid 1875 Construction was continued in Pueblo Colorado. It allowed settlers to convey they're goods while going from one settlement to another.
> In 1865 the Missouri Kansas Texas Railroad was finally established. It was the first railroad to enter Texas from the north side. That railroad was given the name Katy. It was created to help businesses from Missouri Kansas and the north and east to a new railway running across the Indian Territory through Texas.

The brains behind the Southern Pacific Railroad was Theodore Judah. He pursued Financial supporters for the project which found him the Big Four. They were Sacramento's most ambitious merchants which played a huge part in California's history. The Big Four became the wealthiest and most powerful Californians in that generation. When the railroad was completed in 1869 Californians thought that it would have brought positive economic impact and prosperity those expectations were not. The railroad actually failed to bring expected wealth, this marked the point and beginning of the deep depression which continued to the next
