Conclusion: The hypothesis that I came up with during the pre-lab came to become positive. When the can is heated, the aluminum that the can is made out of is beggining to rise in temperature. The water is below 100 degrees C and a gas is above 100 degrees celcius because of we know what tempertature is required for elements to change states. The water expands nearly triple its liquid volume when heated at a high temperature. The hot water vapour produces displaces in almost all the air inside the soft can. Hot water vapour condeses into a liquid when cooled, but the volume of the condensed water is a lot smaller than the previous hot water vapour volume. The Atmospheric pressure outside is now much greater which causes the can to implode immediaetly while simultaneously forcing water up into the can. This is why the can implodes, and the more water you add to the can, the more the can will implode and the more the original volume of the can will decrease than what it orignal volume was. The limitations in the experiment that could of caused us students to have different results is the same exact size of can, not every single can we used in the experiment had the same exact size each time.
