On January 20 since 1937 presidents get inaugurated . Bill Clinton on January 20, 1997 our 42nd president was inaugurated. This year our 46th president, Donald Trump, was inaugurated January 20th 2017. As both presidents gave their speeches there were many similarities and differences. But three main things were tone, domestic policy and foreign policy. A tone can set the mood of how the country will decide if their ideas can possibly worked out. Now what domestic policy is when we worry only about our country. While a foreign policy is the exact opposite we care about the world's problems and interfere.

” and what i interpreted from this is that if we want to better america we must start with other countries and their own chrises. Clinton strived for peace around the world. He then says ”There is no longer a clear division between what is foreign and what is domestic. The world economy, the world environment, the world AIDS crisis, the world arms race: they affect us all.”. This proves to me that he really wanted to better america but bring the countries closer and to solve each other's problems together. 20 years later Trumps goal isn't really the same as clintons. As he said before “From this moment on, it's going to be America's First.” you can have an idea of what his foreign policy was going to be. He also goes and blames the other countries for disrupting america's power. “we've enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry.” I’m not really sure if i agree with trump when he says this.
