Hero Essay Billie Joe Armstrong, an alcoholic, a friend, a proud bisexual, and as we all know him the lead singer of Green Day. Born in 1972, he started singing at the age of 5. Billie loved to sing to children of the hospital to make them feel better. His father Andrew Armstrong worked 2 jobs to support the family. He worked as a Subway truck driver and a Jazz musician. Ollie Jackson ,his mother, worked as a waitress at a local restaurant “Rod's Hickory Pit”. He got his first Guitar when he was 11 years old and named it ‘The Infamous Blue” which he still plays today with several other replicas. They created The band Sweet Children which was later renamed “Greenday” They are still together today playing in Greenday. Mike was Billie’s “Protective aid” or “the person who helped him” This is a type of Archetype. He helps Billie throughout his life through the good and the bad while never. He has been seeking help (Rehab) for his alcohol problem and drug addiction. His fellow (Bandmates) have helped him through the way.
