Eulogy Not only was Billy Pilgrim a great optometrist, he was a son, a World WarⅡveteran and most importantly a father. So it goes. Though his ramblings about Tralfamadore were a little odd he was a very kind soul. All us his family were very glad he was able be in our lives having survived the tragic dresden bombing. If it weren't for that slaughterhouse a lot of us would not be here today. He has definitely served his country. He was a chaplain’s assistant, a prisoner of war and survived The Battle of the Bulge. I graduated third in his optometry school. If his late wife Valencia were here with us today i'm sure she would say how he was a great husband and father he was. So it goes.
