It is often a challenge to resolve unwelcome situations that emerge from day to day. In certain instances, special issues arise that are distinct from these usual situations. By definition, these situations can be identified as ethical dilemmas that are complex circumstances in which it is hard to make a choice both because the right path of actions is not obvious or the right path of actions involves negative consequences ( ). I have dealt with various ethical dilemmas, one of which occurred recently. In this situation, I was purchasing furniture from IKEA, and the sales associate had forgotten to scan an entire bookshelf from my cart; therefore, not charging me for an item that some would consider to be pricy. As previously stated, this was a situation where two or more particular ethical ideas where at odds with each other. In this scenario, loading the bookshelf and taking it home brought up the classic question of truthfulness and integrity. On the other hand, going back to the store and pointing out the discrepancy brought up questions of self-preservation, and by that I mean utilizing that money to buy food, pay next months rent, pay my car which is my only mode of transportation, pay gas, etc. Consequently, in that moment it was difficult to make a decision since it seemed that no matter what I thought and felt the answer felt
