Ani DiFranco’s poem, “Adam and Eve,” relies strongly on allusions, metaphor, poetic tone, and symbolism to describe a sinful act of lust between a man and a woman. There are indications of comparisons and contradictions to another poem, “Adam and Eve,” written by Marjorie Pickthall.
