Have you ever been so scared or nervous that you just stop and cry? In the story ¨Eleven¨ by Sandra Cisneros a scared, shy 11 year old girl gets stood up by her mean old teacher in front of all of her classmates. Did I mention it was her birthday? Yes she got stood up by Mrs.Price on her birthday. But Rachel never seemed to want to put herself out in the open. She was always either too scared to talk or she got cut off but whatever the cause may be, always be willing to put yourself out in the open so people don't just see you as shy. Rachel taught us all a great lesson. Never be afraid to put yourself in the open.
Rachel was nervous. We all get nervous. But when your mean, rude, and impolite teacher sets a nasty red sweater with many smells…show more content… Show people you are not just the cover.So when all of those shenanigans were over the only thing Rachel wanted was for that day to “... be away already, far away like a runaway balloon, like a tiny o in the sky, so tiny - tiny you have to close your eyes to see it.” When it was all over Mrs.Price didn't even go over to talk to her. Now if Rachel would have been willing to talk to her herself maybe she could have explained to the class that she was sorry she accused Rachel of the sweater being hers even when it wasn't. But then again Rachel said that even if the sweater was really truly hers she still wouldn't claim it! By that afternoon she was so over pressured that when Mrs.Price made her put that ugly cottage cheese smelling red sweater she let it all roll out like thousands of snowflakes falling down. She simply just stood there and cried. She had built it up all day and had to let it all out. Now I do feel bad for Rachel I also am not understanding why she didn't try to stand up for herself. She tried several times but never really got to complete her thoughts so she simply gave up. This means that there is always another reason to try hard to get yourself seen or heard. It doesn't matter if you get embarrassed by your teacher or whatever the cause may be never be too scared to put yourself out there. But also know the right time to do
