Steven A. Camarota says that even though children shouldn’t suffer for their parents’ misdeed doesn’t mean the U.S. should give a passport to anyone who sends in a U.S. birth certificate and photo. What about those that abuse the law. Letting the children of illegal immigrants becoming citizens attracts more illegal immigrants who come here with visit visa or student or even work visa but their main purpose is to give birth here so that they will become citizen in the long run through their children. “No court ruling, no legislation passed by congress, and no executive order has ever established that children born to illegal immigrants are automatically U.S. citizens.” It means that nowhere in the 14th amendment it states that children of illegal immigrants will become citizens and are going to be given the equal rights as “normal” citizens even though the amendment talks about birthright citizenship just not specifically about birthright citizenships to children of illegal immigrants.
