For many years, racism and segregation have been an extreme and very common issue all around the world. Today I will be discussing a few topics that have to do with the fight against racism during the revolutionary war in the United States of America. Firstly, the black loyalist movement. The black loyalists were a group of african american slaves that had been freed from enslavement by patriot masters, in return the black loyalists had sided with the british during the war under the command of john murray, 4th earl of dunmore. The reason they were loyal to the British was because of the proclamation of freedom and land issued by John Murray. The reason Murray issued this proclamation was to discredit rebellion, rather than humanitarianism.
