The case of Blakely versus Washington was an interesting case in the United States of America. The United States Supreme Court stated that the Six Amendment of the United States Consitution requires all judges to use only facts provided by their juries in order to increase a sentence. The federal district judge followed the United States Sentencing Guidelines, which Freddie Booker’s sentence increased based on the facts that was deliver to the court.
