Now, let me tell you a joke about the hair dryer…nevermind, it blows. Hair dryers were invented in 1890 by Alexander F. “Beau” Godefroy in his salon in France. His hair dryers were the ones that were plugged into the wall and having to sit and let the dryer dry the hair. They are similar to the ones that are commonly used in salons. Hand held hair dryers didn’t make an appearance until 1920. After the hand held hair dryer was invented, many people wanted to buy the new invention. Although hair dryers are an invention made in 1890, they are very commonly used today in 2017. Many believe that hair dryers are not useful, but the truth is they are a very beneficial invention because it is good for girls with curly hair, hair dryers can be used other than on hair, and it is better to sleep with dry hair than wet.
