Bo Jackson was arguably the best athlete of all time. His feats were so amazing they are often thought of as myths. Bo and his perception are very similar to that of an epic hero. Bo Jackson could be described as an epic hero because he was, physically superior to everyone else, mysterious in his accomplishments, and a positive idol to people. Bo Jackson was in every way a physically superior human being. Bo has run a 4.18 forty-meter dash. The feat is incredible because the average time at the NFL combine in 4.55 for running backs. No one could dislike the man who destroyed the career of the most hated player in the NFL. Bo was received positively when he rejected the Buccaneers drafting him because they had deceived him. Jackson was visiting Tampa Bay during the college baseball season because the Bucs untruthfully told him it would not affect his baseball season. People respected and supported him for standing by his word to not play for the Bucs. Bo’s positive reception is comparable to that of an epic hero. Bo Jackson could be considered an epic hero because of his physical prowess, mystery, and positive persona. While Jackson’s career was cut short because of injury, what he achieved is amazing.
